Right heres the deal I havent had a car insured in my own name for over a year what Im thinking of doing is buying a 1.0 ****box and insuring it cheaply just to keep my ncb I wouldnt be driving the car namely cos I wouldnt bother putting tax or nct on it. Is it possible to insure a car with no tax or nct.The ONLY reason Im doing this is to keep my NCB if I dont insure a car by next July I lose them.

Tax and NCT have no bearing on your ability to get insurance. They are only needed if driving the car on public roads.

Would it work if you insured a bike. Might be cheaper.

Generally a NCB from a bike doesn't carry over to a car, although my friend had an accident on a bike and it went against him, insurance companies get away with murder in this country
