I can't do anything until 10 - 20 minutes after I turn it on. I only have 1 GB of space left and I cant free up any, or figure out where the bulk of it is being used. If the hard drive was a heart, It would've stopped beating and exploded by now!

http://windirstat.info/ this will show what's using up space.

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner this will clear all the unnecessary crap.

Start - run - msconfig - startup will show you what is running at startup.

Although ccleaner will show you this too.

Choose what is necessary to activate at startup and what is not, as these are the most probable causes of a slow system.

Also what Ram have you got and what OS are you on?

Maybe a bad update or installing some virus or malware.

First take disconnect the power cable from the laptop and take the battery out then start it up again.

If this does not work then you can use Windows help to find out how to go back to the most recent version of windows.

Finally if this doesn't work then use your windows disk that came with the computer to try and fix your windows. At worst - reinstall it again.

I would not recommend any of the above pieces of advice. Do you work for PC World tech support?:eek::eek:

sorry THeUsual, but i have to +1 this.

Firstly, how is a bad update or virus going to be fixed by removing the battery? Your other comment on a system restore, system repair, and complete reinstall, while technically correct for other situations, are vague at best, and usually a last resort.

    ant as for
So you walk for getting the bus to school ?
    was that even a sentence?

OP - perhaps you could post details on the version of Windows you are using, the machine spec etc. Did you change anything recently? Are you running the original OS or did you upgrade it? Are you connecting wirelessly to the internet or by cable? Have you any applications set to start on boot up?

With a vague original post you wont get any sensible responses
