I am setting up a tutorial centre. I will be operating outside school hours. The premises will be idle Monday to Friday up until four o clock, also over summer months.

Any ideas on how I can make use of the building during the times aforementioned. I have though about crèche facility but the market is saturated in the area. Also adult ed, foreign students & conference uses not an option as these areas are already catered for.

All rooms will have desks & chairs which could be stored else where in the building.

    Any ideas appreciated,

    Wez

Just because a sector is being catered to shouldn't exclude new entrants. If you have your costs covered with the evening courses then any additional revenue is a bonus. You can therefore afford to be more flexible in your terms than some language schools may be receiving at the moment. Be wary of the language schools though when it comes to payment, they can be very evasive!

Get in touch with the DIT or other further education colleges and see if they have any requirements for additional teaching rooms. If this large unified DIT campus is going ahead in Grangegorman then they will not be renewing leases on their current premises and may need desks in the interim.

    Hi Wez,

    Where are these facilities?

There is a tutorial center here that rents rooms during the day to a Gaelscoil that doesn't have enough space - they are waiting for a purpose built school to be built.

I know FÁS also rents training space.
