My laptop froze and wouldn't turn off using the power button, so I had to remove the battery. Now it will not power on at all. I've tried removing the battery and running it from the AC but it still does nothing.

So to narrow it down, something is wrong with my laptop...

There are no diagnostic lights or anything, it just doesn't respond.

As previous poster said it could be one of a lot of things, if you dont feel comfortable fixing/opening yourself i suggust to bring it to a computer repair shop. If you want i'm based in New ross and I can have a look at it for you for free and then tell you whats wrong and how much it will cost.

Eventually got it fixed as it was under warranty from PC World. It was a complete and utter farce though, which involved them 'fixing' it and sending it back to us four times only for it to break again almost immediately, they replaced all sorts of components that didn't even have to be fixed, sent it back half way through the Windows reinstallation etc. Eventually we got it working again (pretty much involved me completing the software side of the repair, since I'd given up trusting them) and we had to send a letter of complaint to reclaim the €40 or so of mobile phone charges from having the ring the numpties over in England.

Nothing more frustrating when you're unemployed than having to deal with people who's job you could do ten fold...
