110 bhp, so quite a bit off the old 160 bhp vti models. But almost the same mpg as 1.4 so good economy. Go for it sure.

I had a 2005 1.6 Vtec sport. It was a great car, had a fair bit of poke to it & was great on the pertrol. Only reason I got rid of it was cause I wanted an Intgera Type R for years & worked my way up with the 1.6. But I really couldn't fault the car, never caused me an ounce of trouble. The version I had was the British Vtec Sport it had a double exhaust & a much nicer interior then the Jap version.

I had one of these (an 03) 3 door. The engine is refined enough, can give mid 40 mpg on careful driving. It's no rocket, like the VTi but easy to drive and comfortable and effortless. Pretty reliable too.

Between the two (I had a VTi too) the 03 produced it torque earlier and needed to be revved less to get going. But then you are down 50 bhp.
