Super Nintendo not working :(

    Just bought a super nintendo, pluged it in , hit the on button and i get a red light on the console (no sounds coming from console tho) plug in the tv cable but noting?! like as if the console isnt even on, yet the red light appears when i click the snes on! anyone know what it could be? Thanks

    This might sound stupid but have you tried retuning the tv with the SNES on? Assuming it's not scart your using?

    Have a poke around your tv's menu then on the scart channel. Make sure your using scart socket 1 if your tv has a few of them. I wonder if the cart socket needs cleaning also, have a look & see if it's dirty/full of dust etc
