    Hi

I'm looking to get a car insured under classic insurance but I have no primary

car and I seem to be getting turned down at all angles, can anyone throw any

    light on this for me..

    Thanks

Edit I'll still only be doing the 2500 max miles per year.

First Ireland, main car can be a classic, but 10k mile limit. Premium is similar to AXA/Aviva standard motor policy.

I'm in the same boat. Trying to insure a 1980 Porsche 911sc as my primary car. Got turned down by lots of companies. Axa , quinn, 123, fbd were all no. First Ireland quoted me 1100 but my excess would be €4000! Any ideas also welcomed. Is 4k madness?

Try Carol Nash and see what they say. 1800 29 85 50.

I have a commercial as my primary vehicle but I'm not sure if they're too fussed. Worth a call anyway.

Think I called them too. Might insure my Nans old car as she was going to get rid of it and leave it in a shed at home. Problem solved hopefully?

Thanks, no that's as a second car there was no hope of getting it down as a primary car.

Axa? Is that for a classic policy?

I have my jeep (commercial) insured with them but they wouldn't insure me on my classic. Needless to say they won't be getting my business when renewing the jeep.

Axa have lost out on my classic policy two years runing because of their Jobsworth attitude. three cars covered, I can only drive one at a time and even then only occasionally at the weekend.

Depends almost entirely on yourself. I had a 3.2 carrera cab insured with Hibernian until a couple of months ago for €250 comp, although not as my main car.
