Hey guys having trouble with my HP G6000, with Windows Vista. I have it 18 months.

About a month ago it wouldn't turn on, kept saying there was something wrong
with the boot device. Anyway I had to do a Systems Restore. 2 wks after that it basically had completely slowed down, particularly the internet! Even tho I'd downloaded or installed nothing there was only 60GB free of 100 GB.

I did another Systems Restore, and was back to factory settings. In the space of 2 days 8GB were gone. Im thinking its windows vistas updates (seeing as its installed 82 updates). It seems like the laptop is basically eating itself haha
I'm afraid to put anything on it in case it slows it down drastically!

Does anyone have any ideas whats causing it? or indeed how to solve it

Sounds like you have a problem with the Hard Disk.

Have you checked the disk for errors. Are their any directories with names like "Found000".

Do a full Disk check and if you find any problems look to replace the drive.
