I've never had waxing done' down there'! Always shaved. Bit shy about getting it done. Is it really that bad?.

Yes! At the beginning anyway! I found it really hard for ages but now I do it myself at home and I dont mind at all. Buy some No Scream Cream. It helps by at least 50%. It numbs the skin beforehand. That helped me a lot!

If I'm due to go for a wax I usually pop two neuorphen about a half an hour before I go in. I think the apprehension of getting "it" waxed is what you're worried about, the pain isn't that bad, I get jumpy about getting my upper legs done more than getting waxed down there!

As for being shy...what's the point? The beautician has seen it all before she won't bat an eye lid! :)

    Happy Waxing! :)

Personally, I don't find waxing down there too sore. I just find a sting when she beautician pulls the strip/hair. I never take any painkillers before hand though.

I find my eyebrows the most sore, I always have tears running down my face when getting them down.

I guess it varies from person to person. I know someone who got her bikini line waxed once and was in tears by the end as she found it so painful.

Over the years I've had an eyebrow, leg, underarm, lip and bikini wax, and I can honestly say that the worst of the lot was the underarms. Bikini wax was nothing in comparison.

guess it depends what bikini style you go for, a regular trim, brazilian, california (total removal, no hair left!)

for a first time, i would probably recommend the regular one, then you can go further if you feel like it, tho i wouldnt recommend the california one, i tried it and oh boy did i itch like a mad woman when it grew back!! not very lady like to wanting to scratch the area all day:o

Brazilian is the best, i do too do it myself sometimes but it takes longer than with the beautician, i would recommend Brazilia in town, think they have a salon in sandyford too, they are the best i have gone too in Dublin, and they only do waxing so cant go wrong.
In my opinion its all up to the beautician, if they are good then the pain wont be bad, if you go to a cheapy salon they might not be as well and might be hurtful, had an experience 2 years ago in Sandymount and the girl actually burned me!! yep, sexy evening down the drain that night.

Take a painkiller or two, and think of something else for half hour, you will never go back to shaving after!

I don't find it all that bad. It does hurt a bit but it's not unbearable. I've tried shaving but it leaves me with a lot of ingrown hairs - I've never gotten that from waxing.
