    Hey
Can anyone recommend some recent enough dvd's to rent for a night in? Maybe some thrillers and some comedies?
    Thanks

Try these if you haven't seen them already: Kick-Ass, Centurion, Damage, Perriers Bounty (Dublin based gangster comedy with Brendan Gleeson & Cillian Murphy), Hot Tub Time Machine or Green Zone.

I seen all these recently and enjoyed tham all very much

    Four Lions & A Prophet

2 of the best films of the last year, I also second the Kickass recommendation.

    I'd go for:

The Godfather: the daddy of 'em all. Not easy watching by any means, but an absolute must for anyone who would ever be inclined to watch a great film. From the illustrious beginning of Connie Corleone's wedding, to the door closing on Kay Corleone at the conclusion, this is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) pieces of cinema ever produced.

Ruthless People: two down on their luck fashion designers kidnap the wife of a fashion mogul (Danny DeVito) in order to extract a ransom from him (after he ripped off their design and made a fortune out of it). One problem in their plan: DeVito hates his wife (played brilliantly by Bette Midler) and is positively glee-stricken when he hears that she has been kidnapped... The laughs come thick and fast as DeVito tries to get the bumbling kidnappers to kill off his wife and the equalling bumbling LAPD detectives try to solve the case.

Detroit Rock City: four young metalheads try their absolute damndest to get into a gig by their most favourite band of all time, dude... KISS. Not clever and most certainly not Oscar material... but good, crude fun nonetheless.

Minority Report: Tom Cruise plays a cop who works for a police force (called Pre-Crime) that can see and thus prevent murders before they happen. Washington D.C. has been without a murder for 6 years, and the programme will soon be taken nationwide and all will be brilliant within the USA. However, when Cruise's character appears in one of the premonitions and is accused of being a pre-murderer, he must go on the run from his fellow officers and from a fiercely determined Fed (Colin Farrell) to prove his innocence.

Goldeneye: Pierce Brosnan's first outing as 007 is undoubtedly his best. When a nuclear satellite capable of launching a devastating EMP blast over a huge range goes missing from the Russian military, it's up to Bond to save the day. Lush locations such as Siberia, Monte Carlo, St. Petersburg and Cuba whip past at breakneck speed as Bond finds time between bedding women and knocking back vodka martinis to save the day.

    2 birds one stone...

If your looking for a thriller thats also a comedy hmmm try Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibson that was absolute comic gold! some shockingly awful stuff in there to digest.
Hmmm Kindergarten Cop that was a Comedy Thriller wasnt it :p

Actually now that im on that subject Comedy Thrillers Lucky Number Slevin was a fantastic film!!
