My mother is looking at a 1.4 06' 207 in the morning. I'm not really a Peugeot man so what should I be looking for other then the usual stuff...

    Thanks

I know the 207's were using a bmw engine at one stage...
    Quote from link...

It's true that the Peugeot 207 is available with a bog standard 8-valve 1.4-litre engine but the 1.4 VTi isn't it. This unit has been developed by Peugeot in partnership with BMW and is also found in the German marque's entry-level MINI models.

Tbh I have'nt heard of any major problems with 207's.

The mother has one too, very reliable, feels solid and hasn't given any trouble. 1.4 feels pretty sluggish (even compared to my 1.4 astra) but the car is very easy and light to drive - short throws on the pedals, gearstick and heavily assisted steering - my mother loves it for this reason.

The major fault I've found is that the engine bay is tiny and doing anything in there is a pain - even replacing a light bulb is a job for a nanoscientist!

As with many Peugeots of that era, a pretty crap car imo.

    Agreed.

The exterior is horrible and the interior is cheap.

Makes you think how good the quality of what you can't see is

It's the middle of October. If you walked into a garage with that car now to trade, you would be given a trade in value as if it were 5 years old.

Just if anyone is interested my mother bought the 207 as per link above today. I took it for a good run and it seems like an honest enough car to me.
6 months warranty with it. Dealer is putting 2 new tyres on it and putting it through the NCT for her.

Paid 6,600 for it...He would not go any lower and my mother really liked it so what can ya do. Is that a reasonable price to pay? Personaly I think I could have got it lower but there ya go:rolleyes:

    Good Luck

Still think 206 is a nicer car than 207
