Which is the cheapest for dialing Irish Mobiles ? Do any foreign operators have better rates than an Irish one ?

    I see voipdiscount.com at 0.16c p/m - anything better than this ?

Voipcheap.com is 0.10 per min and 0.03 for sms text.

I have been using them along with my Blueface for about 6 months and have found the quality of service very good. If they had a voip-in number, I'd drop blueface.

Looks like voipgain.com is the way to go. Cheapvoip doesn't support SIP

CheapVOIP lists the following rates for Ireland
    Ireland (Landline) € 0.011 € 0.012
    Ireland (Mobile) € 0.040 € 0.045
    Ireland [national Rate] € 0.238 € 0.274

Could someone tell me what the "national Rate" to landlines is?

I found no explanation on their site .... maybe I missed it?

    Thanks

national Rate could be 0818 possibly it could also be 1890, 1850
but for 20cent a minute I would put my money on it being 0818

Yes I guess that may be it ..... but it is a little confusing when Eircom refers to "national call rate" also; in their case it being any call outside what they term local to your exchange.

I would though like to see some info on this from such providers as voipcheap, cheapvoip and so on.

I will continue searching to see if I find anything definitive.

    Thanks for your response. ;)

    regards.

crikey is that site for real?

Can anyone verify that they only charge 5c for mobile calls?

    *edit*

never mind, apparently they don't just charge 5c. see http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=68796937&postcount=5

he says "Rang a 087 for five seconds to check connectivity - charge is €0.089 per min ex VAT."

    so 9c plus vat.

There may be an initial - or setup - charge for the call and then 5c per min on top.
Ringing for such a short time will distort the apparent price per min if that is the case.
