Adding juice to cheaper wine kits

I am looking at the 7-14 day red wine kits. I am led to believe it’s no contest winning wine but does the trick. Has anyone tried adding something like grape juice (1 litre, 2 litres?) to kick up the taste/body a bit? I’ll be brewing in a “dry country” so weight in the luggage is an issue when I’m traveling in. Was thinking the 1.7 – 3 kg kits. (smuggle 2 of them in np) Nice if I can do something that will make for a pleasant surprise come tasting time. Anyone experiment with these lower end kits.
