How to create a good donedeal ad

The time is hopefully approaching where I can pass my beloved* Corolla onto its next owner.

What I'd like are tips and examples of how best to create a good ad to help the car sell without too much hassle.

Its a 2001 Snorolla sorry I mean Corolla saloon, 1.4VVTI with NCT until May/June next year and tax until the end of the year.

The classics guys helped me out designed an ad earlier in the summer for my Rover and I'm hoping you guys will help me with the more modern stuff.

Guide value etc. would be also handy. It needs an oil change but the filters and fuilds were all done at the last service in July, it has the usual scrapes around the edges of the bumpers (how I bought it) and good tyres. Nothing really which isn't age related in all honesty.

    Thanks guys

if im looking at an add for a car i like loads of picutres but not arty ones! just ones showing each side of the car, front and back. one of the boot and one of the engine bay plus a few of the inside. one of the clocks and one of the tax and nct too. dont describe the car as mint if there are a few marks on it but let any interested party know if they phone/email you. give information on the car only eg tax tyres service etc. dont say things like it drives like a dream or that kinda crap. i would change the oil in it too

There's a few good ideas in this thread. :pac:

If the market you're targeting is respectable, then use photos that actually show the bodywork and paintwork of the car, and in adequate light , not 10 photos taken at dusk at the top of a mountain, from 20 metres away.

    And don't put in

at the end. If someone's looking for a rx8, they don't want to see your ad.

    I have to do that.

The car just needs a clean which I'll sort tomorrow or Sunday.

I'm more concerned about the text as it is pretty much the same as when i bought it

just looked at the ad its a good ad just say what the mileage is. you sould have no problem selling it at that price as its 01 and a toyota best of luck with the sale.

2001 Toyota Corolla VVT-i 1.4 Terra, Saloon, Wine in colour, Petrol, Manual, 4 Door

    Mileage: 126000

Is this what you mean regarding the mileage?

    Thanks for that.

No point in putting a silly price (either high or low).

I reckon its what it is worth so hopefully it will sell near enough to that price

Defo change the pics, it makes it look like the car has been for sale for several months, (or just wait untilt the snow comes back :P)

Take down the "Pictures are from when I bought the car", just say nothing and change them asap.

    Just removed the pictures blurb.

I hope to get to change them asap, But I may have to settled for a hoover and quick polish as I'll be pushed for time tomorrow.

I call to the local valet in Nenagh at opening time tomorrow and they *may* fit me in if I'm lucky

Meh, I wouldn't waste money on a valet, unless the car is in rag order. It's a 2001 Corollla, it's going to sell, hoovered or not!

    Hopefully your right.

Its more that I'm pushed for time over the weekend and the valet will cost €30.

I have to sort jobs around the house in the morning and then head to Newry at 1

Ah, a mini valet, I had more in the lines of €80-€100 in my head, a mini valet should do the job if you're caught for time!

Throw it up on gumtree.ie as well.
