What was your favourite wrestling game of all time? Tell us if you still play it or you still think about how, nostalgically, wrestling games today could improve upon themselves and be more like it?

Feel free to post videos or classic clips to get your point across!

Smackdown 2. Great career mode. Great CAW system. Improves on the original in so many ways. Just a fantastic game. I played that one to death

Has to be Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth. But I'm surpirsed you left it off the list, along with Just Bring It & Here Comes The Pain. Also, you do realise that all the titles in the Smackdown Vs. Raw series are different games? Why have them as one option??

I said Attitude. Had the first C.A.W that I ever played, and i loved it. Dont know what age i was, must have been 8-10... Made so many masked characters called "dude". No idea why.

Another reason Attitude was incredible was the little soundbites before the match. Jeff Jarrett's "Dont Piss me Off!!" always went down a storm.

I went for Smackdown 2. I seem to recall it had a huge roster. I think my first match was The Rock vs Stephanie. I was disappointed about Taker's theme not being in it. I think it was the Raw one that was used?

Anyone what a great intro to the game:

    Old school Smackdown ftw.

Of course I do, but that was also my point as well, to see how many people would treat the Smackdown vs. Raw series as Independent titles or how many would simply view them as a series on par with Fifa or Tony Hawk which just releases one every year and gets a little better or worse as it goes along

EWR Revenge. I know it's more of a management game but I get more hours out of it than I do with other wrestling games.

Fire Pro Wrestling comes in a close second, followed by No Mercy.

I always preferred Wrestlemania 2000 to No Mercy, but they're both great.

WCW/nWo: Revenge had the most broken tag team ever; Jericho and Scott Steiner because the Lion Tamer and Steiner Recliner were glitched and couldn't be broken by an opponent :D

Of the games named (that I have played) Smackdown 2 is easily the best. Smackdown 3, Just Bring It was the most dissapointing.

If I remember properly the career mode last all of 3 matches! To to that from Smackdown 2's career was a huge kick in the nadgers. (Although at this stage I guess ti was the first step in a story / road to wrestlemania mode).

Of the games not listed the Total Extreme Wrestling series is fantastic, and the managment simulation aspect is a nice change to everything else on the market. Also the fan mods ensure that you're not limited to the WWE universe.

If the gameplay had been a notch better, the Legends of Wrestling series would've been something special, rather than a wasted opportunity. (like WWE's Legends of Wrestlemania).

Tough decision for me but I went with Smackdown 1. Graphics wise it wasn't the best, but it was great with things like Falls Count Anywhere where you could fight in the Boiler Room or Kitchen etc, the Season mode was great, where you could make friends with wrestlers like Ken Shamrock, The Dudley Boyz and I think some others as well, as well as the storylines in Season modes. Of course the create a superstar was a little bit off but it I regard Smackdown 1 as a prototype for the other games so it's to be expected.

No Mercy. So many hours and days. Except for that weird bug that would wipe all your progress (or was that WM2000?)

Fire Pro Wrestling was fun too.

Smackdown 2 for me, for me it improved massively on a good Smackdown game and the season mode was so much fun especially with the multiplayer option!!

    Ah the good old days!!

I have to say the way WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011 is looking it looks that could take over as the best wrestling game ever, espeically with WWE Universe mode!! :)

I don't post here at all, as I havent followed wrestling in a few years (although I still tend to keep an eye on whats going on...)

I was of the Nintendo generation, played No Mercy and WM2000 to death. Still have them at home, so must dust off the ol' N64 soon! My vote went for No Mercy, though.

An honorable mention must go to Royal Rumble on the Super Nintendo, though. That opened the flood gates for my years of love for wrestling!

No Mercy, was like a big wrestling RPG and is one of the best sports games ever. Warzone because it was funny
