Interesting reading, at diamond the win ratios between the players is quite similar (North america) but in lower leagues protoss start to dominate a bit more (especially vs terran).

Some changes being discussed for upcoming patch:
    • Terran vs Protoss being tweaked.
    • Zerg improvements (building hp, roach range and fungal growth(stops blink))
    • Double reaper nerf. Supply needed for barracks and factory needed for speed upgrade.

I'm not really sure that the reapers needed another double nerf..

Dissapointed with the Reaper nerf, although they were pretty strong against Zerg.

I for one am finally happy they realise and admit Protoss are statistically the strongest performing race.

And if any race needs a nerf its protoss.....

Unless I'm reading that wrong, but it looks like Terran loses the majority of the time?

So why on earth do they need to nerf Terran again?

If anything it looks like Protoss is over-powered.

All those changes are fine in my opinion except the supply depot bull

As you can see there are some issues with Protoss vs. Terran in many of the leagues.

WoW style balancing, yay. Not. I also hope that Terrans realise that all their reaper / hellion openings died. Leaving f/e or banshee on blizz's utterly retarded maps.

Not sure the use of reapers if you need a factory. It will push them quite late and they are really useless later on.

Supply depot doesn't affect me but I like my reapers in 2v2's and it will slow them down significantly. Guess back to MMM i go.

All these changes to reapers are going to make them impossible/pointless to use. There is no point in adding any reapers to an army, and now with the long build time, you're better off building MM out of rax.

Trying to use reapers in mid to late game as sneaky hit-squads will be next to impossible, zerg will have creep spread everywhere, terran will have sensor towers up, and protoss can just warp in stalkers to deal with them whenever they show up.

Of course it's worth pointing out that the article does says that what we saw were "some" of the changes, so it's worth considering that things may not be as cut n' dry as "reapers are now pointless". I suspect there's more updates to come on this.

Yeah that's true but if they do go ahead I really wonder what role the reaper will play.

Reapers at this stage are appearing in small numbers in TvT and TvZ. They never really were a big player in TvP unless there was some serious Zealots, but Marauder with concusion was always better.

It is literally one reaper in TvT to try do some mineral line harass while you hit the front, also used for scouting.

Same with Zerg matchups, they have been turned from a pivotal unit in your comp against Zerg and Terrans, to being literally a glorified scout.

The nerf came way to hard on them. Any Zerg player worth his salt could hold of reapers with a queen and some speed zergs.

The game seems its being balanced very much around team play at the moment. Rushing in general is a winning ticket in lwoer level team play, so I think they are trying to make those games last longer by cutting down on the rushing tactics.

In saying that, me and my friend are plat 2v2 and a pretty solid team. Our only losses come against double zergs, who 6 pool us, there is just no stopping that, the most ridiculous strategy ever : /

This, somewhat. I played 8 games as terran vs my zerg friend, diamond only 800 points since he's a lazy bastard who isn't laddering. The game I went reapers was pretty ridiculous, it's an extreme amount of pressure if you micro well and the nature of terran macro makes it easy to keep production up well. That being said, the 3 rax MM push is the easiest early/mid game push I've ever done, beating the 4G easily. you decimate zerg off creep and on creep it's still relatively easy to micro with stim.

I think in 1.2 blue flame hellion drops and banshee plays will become the norm.
