fake job ads

Have you seen many job ads that you believed were fake? I once applied for a job in Holland, send my CV and when I was interviewed it turns out the position was not the one advertised but another one that would pay €200 per month less. Needless to say I turned it down. Another time I applied for a job and 2 days later they said they have already found someone for this position? Is it common with fake job ads? Are they just harvesting CV:s?

Definitely and I wish someone would crack down on it.

The below is a fake, has been advertised on irishjobs since about Feb 2009.

As has been stated before there seems to be no regulation of the cowboy recruitment industry.

I think there is a case to be made for insisting that you don't send a CV until the company has properly identified itself.

I wanted to answer one of those 'box number' ads on the Munster Express. This was some time ago when jobs were more available. I sent very brief details and said that I would send a CV when they contacted me and identified themselves. Needless to say they did not get back to me, but I think it should be possible to do this without being penalised.

Think it is worth investigating into these fake ads cause there is a lot of bogus jobs being advertised which is a pity if it is the case. Shame really if it is happening. You send in your CV in good faith and nothing comes of it or shunted or realise the job never existed in the first place. Its not a very nice thing to happen to anyone.
