    DSM Resolve (www.DSM-resolve.com) is a Service Unit of Royal DSM N.V. It acts as a competence center that offers the full spectrum of R&D support and uses its knowledge to help improve the chemical processes, pharmaceutical products, instrument design, quality and safety, forensics investigations, and much more, of the DSM Business Groups and external customers. In addition, its professional R&D services and state-of-the-art analytical, engineering and testing labs help its customers to comply with stringent European standards. Because it is located at DSM’s knowledge intensive R&D Campus in Geleen (Netherlands), it has direct access to a wide variety of additional expertises.


    Function details: This expert, with petrochemical background, will use his/her knowledge of Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry to turn the questions of DSM’s customers in the field of petrochemicals into solutions. He/she will maintain and increase the knowledge of the team by sharing his/her expertise with colleagues.


    Expectations for this role include:

    Increase the knowledge of and experience with analytical chemistry techniques.
    Understand the petrochemical oil distillation and cracking processes.
    Become a recognized “partner in business”.
    Have a broad analytical overview.
    Able to translate customer research problems into solutions.
    Build up customer relations, active acquisition and realize projects.
    Like to exploit the excellent training facilities provided by DSM, in– and outside of his/her expertise.
    Plan, organize and prioritize the workload.


    Education and qualifications:

    Academic degree (preferably master or PhD) in analytical chemistry with significant and proven experience with (gas) chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques.
    Outstanding knowledge and understanding of gas chromatographic, hyphenated (like 2D-GC) and mass spectrometry techniques/technologies (including good knowledge of mass spectrum interpretation and experimental hands-on experience with e.g. an Autospec Mass Spectrometer).
    Excellent petrochemical knowledge (from crude oil to polymerization products) and interest and affinity with the petrochemical processes.
    Several years of relevant (preferably industrial) experience.
    Knowledgeable of the necessary analytical techniques.
    Confident with ISO regulations and able to work within this frame.

    Both team player with team spirit and able to work autonomously.
    Driven by enthusiasm, commitment and dedication.
    Excellent communication skills.

    Familiar with western (business) culture.


    Languages:

    Fluent in English both oral and in writing.
    Ideally also fluent in one or more other European languages.


    Mobility/travel: Very limited.
