I have a few pairs of old runners i use for excercise. That way i dilute my rancid foot stench among all of them.

One pair of runners are going to smell like rotten cabbage fairly quickly.

Here's a tip: put a pinch of sage in your boots, and all day long a spicy scent is your reward

    I get that reference!

Incidently, also paying attention to any and all serious answers to this thread. Frankly, this should be stickied. In every forum.

Tea tree oil is a goodin.

Has a very strong minty/herbal smell. Good for masking pungent foot odour.

Get baking soda, aka bread soda, bicarbonate of soda. It should be in the flour section in supermarkets. I think scholl or some other chancers sell baking soda in fancy containers as odour removers and charge about 10 times the price that baking soda should be.

    Luck of the draw.

A lot of Nike runners stink (like cats piss) and some of the flat 'classic' trainers that Reebok and Adidas do to.

Throw them out unless they are new enough to return.

    Detergent will make them worse.

This works very well, also if not sage, use wild fennell, every night put a small pinch in. Even put a pinch in while running walking etc. Maybe next pair of runners buy a breathable runner like merrell's or sthg.

And thats exactly why your better of getting 2 or 3 cheap pairs of runners.

Runners, no matter how expensive they are will get smelly. Especially if your using them for their purpose.

You can get 2 or 3 fairly cheap pairs of addidas runners for about 25 euro each if you look for them. Or you can spend 100euro on one pair & regret it as soon as they begin to stink.

You are not supposed to put runners in washing machine....

Because when the water gets hot it can melt the glue holding the stinky runners together..

result = stinky mouldy runners that are falling apart at the seams

Olbas Oil might disguise the smell and it's also good for when you have a cold!

You could try washing your feet also. That should help :D

I don't think they'll damage the washing machine. Your runners might fall apart though. Try leaving them outside for a few days so they can get some air.

Put used tea-bags in your runners at night. They will absorb the mal-odours.

    two suggestions...
1-sprinkle bi-carbonate of soda in them
2-if you smoke, stop and your feet will stop smelling

Also, if your runners have the gel/spongey part in the heel the heat and water can make it harden so it'll be like walking/running on concrete!

    To soak up the odour.

Louis XV complained of exactly same thing back in 1743. He was fed up getting messages that stank of B.O.
I don't know if he ever solved that conundrum. Sorry.
