Just hope that the current problems being experienced by Pierse Construction won't have an impact , if Library is in complex where new civic offices are, they are the Building Contractor. They were the real reason why Civic Offices have been so delayed, subbies were dragging their heels cos they were not being paid.

Not true the reason was that the council were not paying the builder on time - they delayed it

    almost ready to open

the civic offices are open, all the local council matters are now dealt with in here. the VEC is long open, the Court too, the HSE have an office there and a block of apartments out back too.

Work has begun on the redevelopment of the Avenue too. some pics of it also. A new carpark is to be finished with in weeks. the link is also open now from the civic square into the shopping centre. very handy indeed. and beautifully done.

There was a piece in the Wexford People anouncing that the Library was opening on 19th April. It was probably in the Gorey Guardian also.
