Did anyone else see a sign on the M4 saying "fast lane closed between ...[I forget which times it said]" ?
I'm sure they had limited room but still? :pac:

ok. so i read that right. I assumed i hadnt.

I saw no lanes closed. therefore, there is no such thing as the fast lane.

Except when i live in it!

Yeah I didn't see it closed either, but I did a quick "does that affect me now - no - ok don't care" so I don't remember what times it was at.

    Exactly!
How is anyone to get it right when they have official signs saying it :D

Yeah I meant to post this too!

So, are we sure there isnt a such thing as a fast lane? If the signs say it and our congested 2 lane "motorways" operate on the principle of a slow truck lane and a fast lane, it kinda seems like, you know, we were wrong..

The "fast" lane is usually the innermost driving lane ;)

yeah yeah I know... shouldn't blah blah. I don't, but I'm just saying it's clearly the fastest lane of the lot.

Road works are ongoing nightly and the M4 is down to 1 lane between j5 and j7 between maynooth and leixlip in both directions.

No such thing as a 'fast lane' Outside lane is overtaking lane. People who call it fast lane don't know how to drive on a motorway
