Why do you need a sexuality limited training centre. Surely sexuality is not something which should limit or increase ones chances of training opportunities?

Who is LINC for and what does LINC aim to do?

    L.INC aims to:
Improve the quality of life, health and well-being of all women who identify as lesbian or bisexual in Ireland.

    Objectives:
    * To build a safe, accessible and vibrant community centre (actual and virtual) for lesbians, bisexual and trans (LBT) women.
    * To provide information and support for LBT women and their families.
    * To promote the mental, physical, emotional and sexual health of LBT women.
    * To inform and contribute to relevant policy development at local, regional and national level.
    * To be a model of best practice rooted in feminist, social justice and community development principles.

Generally I'd say this was a great idea, but I have to agree with Enda, whats the connection between IT skills, cardiac response and being a lesbian? :P I suppose its better than a bunch of people coming together with nothing in common at all other than their sexuality though.

Or it sounds like a group of LB women who are putting on workshops thier memebers want to do and take part in.

What on earth is wrong with LinC? Get over it people. They do excellent work and coming together because of sexuality is not a bad thing. It's not limited, it's just specific, there's a difference.

And nice to see that it's inclusive of all women, cis and trans.

Briefly to try explain it to you.
Just a part of their remit states:
    * To promote the mental, physical, emotional and sexual health of LBT women.

From GLEN website explaining the findings of a mental health report of LGB people in Ireland.
    • LGB people are more likely to attempt suicide compared to their heterosexual peers
    • LGB people are also more likely to have substance abuse or mental health problems (depression and anxiety), which are known risk factors for both attempted and completed suicide

You know, a way to tackle these problems might be to have a sexuality specific based community resource. So people know they're not alone, can meet other people who are Lesbian and Bi, take part in community activities instead of maybe going out onto the scene where there it is more likely there are drugs etc.

Sorry for the de-rail L.inC. Keep up the good work.
