Q for O2 rep regarding the O2 Broadband Hotshot

    Hello.
    I am a current customer of O2 mobile broadband and am currently about 4 months into a 18 month contract. I am wondering if it is possible to upgrade my current Huawei Wireless Modem to the O2 Broadband Hotshot modem. And if so what the additional cost would be.

    Upgrades are decided on an individual basis. This question should be asked on O2's own forum, as they will need to look at your account information.

    I haven't looked at your account but if you are only 4 months in you probably don't have an upgrade.


    Just taken a look, you have a silver upgrade.

    Whats the purpose of the MicroSD Memory card slot in the hotshot and how does the extra storage work?

    I'm also interested in how the removable memory functions and in seeing the tech specs for the Hotshot.

    When plugged in via USB cable, the card shows as a drive on the computer. You can use it for storage. When using Wifi, it does nothing. Basically, it's useless, except as a micro-sd card reader.

    anyone know if this work with xbox live? i've been told it does but i want to be sure before i pay 100 quid for it.

    No better than any other way of connecting to 3G/HSPA

    i.e. rubbish.
