iPhone 4 - insurance - unlocking

    Hi,

My iPhone 3Gs was recently stolen, and having made the insurance claim, I'm going to be in receipt of a new iPhone 4. I'm also out of my 18 month O2 contract, and will be switching to Vodafone.

My question is this. Do I still have to contact O2 to get the phone unlocked, or because it is a new phone (from Phonecover), will I be able to go straight to Vodafone with it?

Quick question. I'm in the same boat. 3GS broke. €65 processing fee for replacement with phonecover or an additional €110 for a new iphone4. I paid the additional but received it today in a very wierd non apple box with no charger. U think this is a refubrished phone? Did the same happen to u?

Someone else's sloppy seconds. Basically if a phone can be fixed but takes a while you get a replacement phone straight away. Your phone is fixed and given to someone else as a replacement down the line.

How are you being charged 65, I was charged only 35 to process. I think phone cover is a rip off imo. I have payed 10 per month for 18 months and 35 to process. For that I could have bought a new 4S on a contract upgrade and have change for a pint.

I won't be insuring with them anymore and if they ask for more money for my replacement phone they can get stuffed. The idea of the insurance is that they replace it at no cost.

35e from me too, in saying that, the rep who gave me the claim form originally did say it's 65e excess for an iPhone

Money making scam is all it seems.

Did you hear from Phonecover since you sent your phone away ?

    Sounds like it alright.

Rang them today and they said that they "don't give out refurbished phones at all" and the iPhone comes that way directly from apple as phone over buys in such bulk and they make a saving when choosing the cheap packaging and no charger etc.
The phone works fine so far. Still very iffy about the packaging without an appe logo anywhere! Might just be over paranoid.
I paid insurance for past 2 years and €65 processing charge and an additional €110 for the "new" iPhone 4.
Has anyone received a replacement phone from phone cover in a non apple box??

My brother recently got a new one on insurance too and said it doesn't come with anything like charger or apple packaging, Id say they are just cutting costs.

Thats not bad was it a 4s they sent out? My phones starting to act weird although not sure if they'll cover it because it an intermittent problem phone works fine for days and then keeps turning itself off even though there's loads of battery, not sure how I'm meant to show them that, kinda hoping it just gets worst at the moment!
