I am planning to register my company over the next week. I am just looking for advice on where I should go to get the company registered. I am looking for somewhere in Dublin that will allow us to register the company to their address as we do not have a premises yet. Somewhere that doesn't cost an arm and a leg would be nice too :)

Company formation agents, (google or golden pages) should all be cheap enough.

Why not use the home address of one of the directors as the registered office, as a short term solution, you can always change it later.

Thanks very much. I was hoping somebody could recommend somebody they have dealt with before. We are all renting and it could be very messy to register the company to our homes so it would be nice if we could avoid that for now.

Company Bureau at www.companyformations.ie seem to be pretty good and do exactly what I am looking for. Has anybody dealt with these guys before?
Can anybody tell me what the process involved is when I apply. Is it all done online? Or when I order will they just do up the paper work and then I go sign? Or what way does it work?

With regards to setting up a bank account do I have to have the company registered first or should i open the bank account first?

Try Kendellbell.ie .Tony in there has done several virtual addresses for me. Its a good price and he has a couple of addresses in Dublin for you to use.

We used http://www.companysetup.ie/ and they were perfect.

Set the company up first and then the bank account.

    Hi Guys,

I've just started a company formation last week. Relevent documentation arrived for signing yesterday. Cost to accountant was 665 euro.

Hoping I'm not crashing someone elses thread but does anyone have a link to a good website regarding info on new compnaies regarding ways to benefit from tax entitlements etc?

    €665?! That seems very expensive.

The accountant told me it was 550 +Vat?

The accountant told you the price he charges, not the cost! It should have cost no more than €300.

    Hi Rory

What did the accountant do for the money?

If all he did was form the company then perhaps he is overcharging. If he did more then this such as provide start up advise, register the company for taxes, register you as a director and employee etc. then it might be a very reasonable fee.

    Kind Regards
