REPS Demo Farm

Someone I know has been approached by his Teagasc Farm Advisor about having his farm as the REPS 4 Demo Farm in the area. Does anyone know what this will involve? Would there be many visits out per year??

The advisor told him that there is a payment of €1500 per year to the farm owner and I think Farm planning will be done for free by Teagasc. (That's a financial benefit of almost €2500 per year).

Now the guy has a good show - he is a full time farmerwith everything done fairly right, he gets full REPS Payments, keeps everything fairly clean and tidy. He keeps both cattle and sheep. He's part of the suckler discussion group that we have locally. He has lots of parking space around his yards and has public liability insurance (even though Teagasc insurance will cover any farm visits by the public).

The guy has completed several measures so far for REPS 4 and what he has done is very neat and impressive.

All good points above- I wonder are there any disadvantages to it? Has anyone here got a REPS Demo Farm? Any views good or bad on the above or should he grasp it with open arms ????

Money for jam in a recession, where does he sign :D

Presume he'd have to do some sort of spiel but sure he runs the farm so he'd know it already.
