Personally I'd avoid anything with a Celeron

Theres a much better range of toshibas, in harvey norman and did electric 440 to 560 price range,do you want hdmi out?.IE DID Electric have around 7 different toshiba models.I don,t see anything wrong with the power city model, check battery life, reviews before you buy.

first off you don't need 4gb of ram to run word and powerpoints

secondly - if you want something to do word docs and excel etc etc etc buy the cheapest thing in the shop pretty much... that'd be my advice anyways but just stick to a brand name you know though is all...

but don't pay for 4gb of ram that you'll never ever use

Only €30 in the difference between 2gb and 4gb though

Ive just ordered an almost identical model (c650-1CN) to that 2GB on amazon for about €358 including shipping.

The only difference i can see is that hard drive is only 250GB, rather than the 320GB on power city.
    Everything else looks the same.

Theres more info about it in this thread:

Btw both laptops mentioned would be perfect for the OP's needs.

Let just hope the celeron doesnt run tooooo hot. :)

Ordered one of these Toshiba's C650-110's from PowerCity, I got them to do a price match to the price on dabs when they had them in stock which made it €416 delivered so not a bad price for what I am getting. Will probably have it on Monday so will let ye know how I get on with it :)
