hey all, my neighbour wants to install security cameras covering the front of his house and also pointing across the street to where he parks his jeep.
he ll pretty much be covering everyone who comes up our lane, not sure im too happy about this and was just wondering if its legal or is he well within his rights?

    thanks

Once he is not looking into your or others peoples property he is within his rights to install the cameras.

Is someone within their rights to ask him for a copy of the footage if it contains them? and they have 48 hours to comply? if it's recording that is.

Not if it contains them in a public area.
    Consider this:
Could you contact DCC or the Guards & ask for all the footage of you out on the town for 6 hours last saturday night?
If they feel their privicy has been invaded the option is to make an offical complaint & then request footage.
If there has been criminal activity then contact the Guards & they will request footage.
If full function cameras & domes have private property within thier sights generally masking can be set up.

Are you allowed film onto your street providing its not infringing on your neighbours property? Hmmm Interesting didnt know that. Ie a CCTV camera filming cars going up and down the road outside your property as well as people?:)
