    hey guys,

Just after receiving notification that i have been successful in getting a part time job in Palmerstown.

What would be the best method of transport to and from?
the job is in a pub so buses are out as transport home..

I live just off dorset street in dublin..

Well as transport to, 25, 25A, 66, 66A, 66B, 67, 67A, 25B (doesn't exist yet) all leave from Pearse St/Westmoreland Street/Wellington Quay. For getting home, there's not much options. The last bus leaves Maynooth at midnight but doesn't go all the way in. Taxi lift or cycle?

Bout 10km so easily doable distance wise on a bike. You can easily put it into maps.google.ie which will give you the route/times/distance, although doesn't always give times for bike.

Car is the best transport in Dublin if you need to travel outside normal working hours or cross city most hours. Unfortunate and totally ungreen but true. Motorbikes and cycling is an option too if you're brave enough. Taxis could be used but tend to be on the dear side for frequent use.

Not really if you get stuck in the heavy traffic that you frequently encounter round Dorset Street and Palmerstown/Chapelizod. Dorset Street to Palmerstown is a nice cycle and perfectly safe. You have the option of going through the Park for part of it as well to add to the scenery. The buses are also very regular along the dual carriageway and you have the advantage of bus lanes to beat the traffic.

Edit: Hmm, might be a different story if you finish at 2 o'clock in the morning.
