My Philips PFL8404 is picking up all DTT channels loud and clear. However although the set is MHEG enabled the text is analogue. How does one get the digital text? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

MHEG-5 is available with UK selected as the region/country when the tv was first installed/setup.

Have gone through installation menu but no option available for input of country. Is it possible to go back to stage of first installation and if so how? thanks.

I don't own a Philips but it is possible, did it for my brother some time ago but have forgotten the structure of the menu.

RTFM - should be in the manual.

    Do a full factory reset.

I have this TV and had to do it. For some reason I thought I'd do your homework for you :-)

    Manual: http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/4/42pfl8404h_12/42pfl8404h_12_dfu_eng.pdf

    Specifically (on page 130):

    4.2.3 Reinstall channels
When the TV was switched on for the first time, a full
    installation of channels was performed.
You can redo this full installation all over again to set your
language, country and install all available TV channels.

    Full installation
To reinstall the TV, press [HOME BUTTON} > Setup > Installation >
Channel installation > Automatic installation and press OK.
Start the installation and select Reinstall channels.
The update may take a few minutes.
To reorder or rename found channels, read Setup >
    Channels > Reorder and rename.

...I'm not even sure you need to do the full channel re-scan. I think there's a search update / scan for new channels but amn't sure (been a while).

You should have what you need anyway.

Have taken your advices and done a channel re-install on U.K setting. MHEG Digital teletext now available and all DTT channels available including Radio channels all of which are now named. Thank you all for your help.
