Removable sim card?

    Hey all,

Planning to get new mobile broadband (work is paying for it). Currently have a Dell Studio laptop that allows you to insert SIM cards so you can use mobile broadband without a dongle. Would like to get a dongle/mifi hotspot device as well though for flexibility if work pay for it. Is the SIM card removable in any of 3's/O2's products? The current 3 Dongle that I have is fully sealed so you can't remove the SIM.

    Thanks in advance.

I've never known of a modem to be fully sealed. All that I've seen have a SIM slot somewhere on it, and the SIM is definitely removable.

What model is the 3 modem that you have .?
it seems odd that it would not be removable as every modem ive ever had on 3/o2/vodafone i could take the sim out or put it in are you sure theres no slot somewhere on the modem to remove the sim?

All sims should be removable, if the one you have is like a USB stick then have a look near the USB connection part, some have a little drawer that slides out with the sim card.

Ah cheers. Found the drawer with the sim in it. Was looking for a way to take apart the white casing. Now just have to figure out how to setup the Dell internal modem with Ubuntu. Thanks :)
