I tracked my car on motor tax

I understand that shannon crowd can be quite slow but i track my car on motortax.ie to see if anything had processed. Ive been waiting 3 weeks now and i got this information below

does this mean that the car is in my name now and I just have to sit tight and wait for the post? can i tax the car?

from what I can tell my VLC was sent on the 27th of last month...still nothing in the post

judging by your quote, then yes your VLC is on the way.
i find shannon very quick actually, most of the delays are to do with the actual VLC getting posted later by the seller and An Post delays.

I did the same as you in the last few weeks as I was suspicious that the seller hadn't sent the VRC for my new car.

Nothing happened for weeks after the sale and I got the new VRC days after the change appeared on motortax.ie

the lady said I should have had it by now as it was sent out on the 27th and was perhaps "lost in the post" and that she'll send a new one.......hmmm maybe my phone call was a kick up the batty to get it moving. who knows

I recently taxed my car online and waited a week and a half for my disc before ringing them. It turned out that they sent out the disc but it had been sent back to them with a sticker from An Post saying that I was "Gone Away". It was sent to my home address. Make sure this sin't what happened to you!

When I had to ring them two years ago, they were behind a 4 week backlog (around this time of the year).

Theres no delay with Shannon its the seller/dealer being lazy. The last car I bought of Al hayes was on a Saturday and I had the vlc the next thursday. People selling cars are notorious for this I dont know why..

the seller gave me the VLC to send off.

I am still waiting on this when I rang last week they said I should have had it by now and that they'd send another. so frustrating seeing other post come and go no problem

Can you get details without a PIN?

yeh you can just enter your reg and it will track change of ownership, when it was issued etc.

cant get pin if your taxing it for the 1st time as far as I know.

I find on-line extremely fast. Had 1 vehicle lately-change of ownership -5 days. Motor tax application- 2 days:)
