    Hi,
Im hoping that someone might be able to help me with this. Im doing an Arts degree in UCD at the moment but Im hoping to transfer to NUI Galway next September. Ill still be doing Arts and Ill just be continuing into my third year. But Im wondering if Ill be eligible for free fees because Ive changed colleges, even though its the same course, level, and even subjects!!!
I know that repeating students dont get free fees or the grant, and if you change to a different course also you lose these but Im hoping this wont be the case in this circumstance cos Im seriously poor lol.
    Any advice would be welcome
    Thanks xx

if you repeat a year you won't get it. So if you do year 1 and 2 in UCD and transfer into year 2 in galways, you won't. but if you do year 1 and 2 and go on to year 3 in galway you hsould be elegible.

Hiya Tree, thank you for your reply. Im hoping to be accepted into year 3 in Galway so if that goes to plan then thats a great relief that I wont have to pay fees. By any chance do you know where Id stand on the maintanence grant? Im getting it now but not sure about when I transfer. Everytime I ring them up I get a different answer!!!!
    Thanks xx

if you are currently eligible for the grant then you should continue to be so

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
