Using the same solicitor??

The last time we used a solicitor was to purchase our house when we move from UK 7 years ago, he still retains our house deeds. He was quite evasive about what the fees involved might be, particularly when the first purchase fell through. When asked what the fees for that would be he said 'don't worry we'll sort that out when we complete a purchase for you'. The final fees appeared high to us and there was little in the way of detailed breakdown of fees. Of course we had nothing much to compare it with as we were from UK and assumed this was how it was done here.
We need to make our wills now and wonder if we would be best to stay with our original solicitor or shop around on this occasion.
We live in Wexford/Waterford area and would be grateful for any advice or indeed any recommendations (though maybe the forum doesn't allow this).

If the solicitor dealt with your conveyance they might well do your wills free of charge. Just call them and tell them you are considering it!
