Just wondering about this, after a chat with an English friend of mine about roofing.

Do roofers use hip irons over here when doing a roof of an existing house or a new build.

A hip iron is common in England to stop the hip roof tiles sliding of over time form wind and rain.

So are hip irons used over here on existing and new houses??

    many thanks.:)

only when asked i think hip irons look well under the ridge tiles of a hip. lot of ridge capping used now a days on slated roofs.
