foil taping or not

Cold roof, 150mm rafter. After fitting 100mm pu (double folibacked)between the rafters, is there much benefit in foil taping the joints, if I instead decide to fit a membrane after, and seal that instead. Then fit a composite board. If I do fit and seal the membrane is there any reason why this can’t be a simple plastic…

If I do fit and seal the membrane is there any reason why this can’t be a simple plastic sheet, ie no requirement for breathable membrane.

Any advice appreciated
