Best games for Teenagers?

Hi!! Just wondering what are the best games out there for teens? Particularly group games where more than 2 people can play... but I don't mean computer/video games! Just something fun and that helps people socialise!

Depends on the teenagers but I reckon Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride are both fun games and Settlers in particular is very social due to the element of trading.

For something more along a party game line, you might want to try Apples to Apples or Wits and Wagers (neither of which I've played so can't say a lot about but I they seem quite popular).

Depends what they're into, we played Munchkin and Lunch Money (card games) when we were teens. Other kids played Magic.


BTW video games being perceived as anti social is a pet peeve of mine, I'm meeting up with about 30 people this weekend to play some on Liffey St

Role-playing games are excellent and unbeatable in terms of interaction, teamwork and overall fun. Games such as Dungeons and Dragons, call of Cthulhu etc.

If it's classic board games you're after then:

Diplomacy
Risk
Axis and Allies

Are all excellent board games, all of which rely on extensive interaction and discussion amongst players. The 'downside' is that they all centre around 'war' to one extent or another.

You could also look at the Games Workshop games.

Games such as Blood Bowl can be good fun for teens (and adults) too.
