Recommendation Letter for Golf Club membership

Hi I am looking at joining a golf club which requires two referees. While I do know two people in the club and they will sign the letters, they want me to write the letters as they don't know me well enough to do this or just don't want to do it :) So what I am wondering is what information should I include in the letter…

Laeman,

Just tell them you a man of good standing and well respected in the local community, that they have known you and your family personally for years.And also that you are a coach at the the local GAA/Rugby etc, etc
