lexmark x1250 not printing properly

I have lexmark x1250 in a vista laptop. It will do a photocopy and print it out but will not print a word processing file ? It is installed properly and has been refilled with ink. Any ideas?

I have now discovered it needed to have the jets cleaned. There is an option in the lexmark solution center to do this
