Pointless going for just the pad, the Endless Pads will eat other discs.

Are they really that bad? Im running Carbotech`s track pad with OEM disks on my SiR Civic and they are fierce but my OEM disks show no signs of deterioration, maybe its different for heavier cars?? are you running Endless yourself they were one of the options i was thinking of before i went with the Carbotechs

They are too aggressive for the OEM discs, I've been told they'll just destroy them.

I know of a car running Endless pads and discs on the front and it got 95% brake effort in the NCT, which is pretty amazing tbh.

Also I know of a Subaru Impreza STI that did a full trackday on them and didn't suffer one bit of fade

i know how good they are they were one of my top choices ;) i just didnt think they were that aggressive to the disk, like i said im running a full aggressive track pad and im doing fine, and not one bit of brake fade on a full track day, i even broke them in on track (as specified:cool:) like i said could also be the fact im running a lighter car that it doesnt have as much of an impact on my  the only thing i dislike is that they need to heat up so i just have to keep reminding myself that when i hop into the car in the morning :D

That sort of money for discs and pads is mental. I got my 6 piston 320mm setup from the states for not much more!

Honda (that's what I got the quote for) brakes are mental money atm, secondhand spoon calipers for the DC2 Integra are fething over €1100

Would an OEM upgraded calipers (legend/NSX??) with larger OEM blanks to be a cheaper and better option, well depending on your wheel choice.

Ill be going 282mm MG Disks up front with larger prelude calipers and a decent brakes, plenty of time attack lads are using this setup with great results. that will be more than enough stopping power for my EK on and off the track. Have a look on EK9.org there are some really good brake threads on there and some very good brake specialists on there. Worth a read up before you spend you money ;)

Just my 2cent, let us know how you get on

I had no intention of buying Spoon calipers, just browsing really after I saw them on a car, the OEM brakes on the DC2's aren't half bad tbh, I have the UKDM so it's 282 from factory, I also want to keep my OEM wheels so if I ever did upgrade they must fit under 15'' wheels

What did Mick suggest? What he doesn't know about Honda and performance bits you could write on the back of a postage stamp tbh

There are much cheaper OEM options for civics (assuming civic) to get a 280mm disks and larger callipers.

700 for pads alone they would want to be absolutely fantastic for that money

Do they have any other options?

    XYZ or AP Racing?

XYZ are supposed to be just as good as Endless or AP Racing at a fraction of the cost.

Many huge powered Evo's, Skyline's, Impreza's are running big XYZ brake setups.

There has to be a wilswood based kit for that car.

Its an accord running gear isnt it?

Yea there is. Needs at least 16's on it for clearance IIRC.

Thought it was more Civic? Though prolly way off on that score.

As projectgtr siad you can also run NSX/Legend calipers on em. IIRC they need fettling to fit though. Fettling involving sparks and cuts on fingers too. :D

Unless you're getting into serious trackdays, the endless stuff seems to get great reviews. Even if you're doing trackdays.

It's a pretty light car, so stopping power wise the OEM's pretty bloody good. Has good feel too. I've driven one with the spoon jobs and I dint notice much extra in the anchors, but did note a better feel through the pedal. More dialable so to speak. You'd expect that with four pots mind. The Brembo brakes on the DC5 were nice I have to say for this reason.

If I was going to uprate the brakes, 1st thing I'd do is completely bleed and replace the brake fluid(DOT 4). Its hygroscopic so sucks moisture from the air like a big moisture vampire sucky thing and breaks down quicker than an X factor hopeful(if its 2 years or older, then its in need of a change, esp in damn old Ireland). Which means it boils more easily at lower temps. Not good. If your pedal feels squongy after a few laps, its more likely to be that and not your metal bits I reckon. You could run DOT 5 silicone based fluid, but IIRC you cant on ABS systems and the previous system must be completely flushed of the glycol based stuff. Your vintage lads use it a fair bit as it doesnt break down if the car is left idle, nor does it corrode, nor does it bugger your paintwork if it spills. It can bugger some rubber seals mind(and why you should never use silicone based cleaners on your rubber trim). The classics forum lads may be a better bet for advice on this.

Then change the brakelines for braided hoses. They do make a diff I found in the past, though have not gotten around to fitting them to my present jalopy yet.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

XYZ's may be BBK's, but they are the bargain chicken bucket of big brake kits. Wilwood are much better for the money.

Do Wilwood do 355mm 2 piece Disks, 6 Pots Calipers that would fit the ST do you know by any chance?

Their website wont load for me :(

Check the TCE website, that's where I got mine.
    http://www.tceperformanceproducts.com/

The boys there are unreal. They custom made brackets for my MINI at no extra charge. Not sure if the Focus ST is available stateside, but they'd surely be able to help out anyway with bits and pieces.

I have EBC discs and green stuff pads. I got 106% brake effort :D on my NCT. (98 Lexus GS300)

(front average was 5.1 kN, rear average was 3.9 kN)

The car weighs a heavy 1720kg, which makes it extra amazing

As Onkle eluded to with the impreza, that was me.

I got a set of the "Budget" endless pads for the front end of my 03 STi, running standard discs from Mick in Urban.

Car has covered about 9,000km with the pads on and still 1/2-1/3 left on them, including 2 track days.
I could do 20 mins on track in the try flatout without getting brake fade using these.

I think the ones i got were about €160 or so at the time. (In feb or march)
