i have an oil system in place. am considering installing a wood pellet stove which will heat the room rads. and cylinder. is it worth it. the stove in question is 18kw. costing me 3450 excluding the grant. i am planning to store the pellets in 4 large skippy bags (www.skippybag.ie)

i think they will be able to hold the three tonne delivery and store it in my garage.

    any ideas or suggestions please

    thanks

We have a 24kW internal boiler (Nordica/Extraflame Lucredia) and find it great. It has been a little troublesome - but mainly because of a leak in the pressure circuit. The pressure sensor in the unit stopped the pellets being put in when the pressure dropped. Right now an air pressure sensor is gone and needs replacement, still it is working away without it. Adding the pellets every few days can be a pain, but we are used to it. Unless it is very cold, we usually use it a level 1 (20%). I think this unit is a bit over powered for our house. I'm now looking at where to get this years supply of pellets. Last year (start aug 09) we bought 150 x 18.2kg bags of pellets for €770, there are still about 20 bags left. So I'll be putting up a post to see where people are getting thier pellets this year & cost etc
    Dave..
