what style of music are you looking to get pressed. this is very important as a pressing plant will need to master a certain amount to go onto vinyl and if you're wanting genre specific pressings i wouldnt trust the job to just anyone.

Aidan Foley at MasterLabs can cut and master Vinyl..

He is one of very few in the country that can do it!

    It's black metal music.

If you're thinking about doing a 7" one thing you need to think about are your side lengths.
About 3min per side is ideal, 3:30m max. I've heard plenty of 4-5min 7"'s of course, but really after 3-3:30 mark things start to go downhill.

If it's much longer than that think about a 10" or 12". Also in an ideal world having similar lengths on both sides is best.

Good vinyl is expensive and you can go about it a couple of ways-
Have a mastering engineer like Aidan Foley cut your master lacquer and send that to the pressing plant.
Or prepare a digital pre-master and send that to a pressing plant that can do a transfer. Both ways have pros and cons.
pros being, having a third party cut the master lacquer gives you much more control over the final product, cons would be that it can work out more expensive.

    DSM do good work imho:

Mobineko are re-sellers for GZ vinyl, they've a pretty decent set up now if you've a good pre-master.

    thanks for that iquinn.

There's 3 songs to go on with a total duration of almost 20 minutes so I guess I'd be looking more at a 12 inch. 2 tracks are 4:30 and the other is 9.

I sent a mail to DSM and Aiden Foley looking for prices so I'll wait and see what they say.

We only want a couple of hundred or so. It's more just as keepsakes to hand out seeing as it's our first recording as a band.
