Problem setting up tethering?

I'm with 02. Before I got my new iPhone4 I used to take the sim from my old phone and use it in an unlocked dongle and away I went! Now it has a new micro sim I can't do that. I read that it was simple to set up tethering so I gave it a go. I enabled tethering in the phone settings and plugged it in. It connects to iTunes and shows up as 'apple iPhone, camera connected' but in 'Network Connections' it doesn't show up as iPhone? Where has it gone? I have 3 dial-up connections listed and 2 LAN/High speed ones but no mention of the iPhone?

What's more confusing is when I plug it into my work computer with tethering enabled it instantly shows up on the phone as 'internet tethering' which it doesn't on the netbook. Anyone any ideas?

try using bluetooth..once you pair it just select bluetooth devices, right click iphone and select "connect as access device".
Strange that it doesn't pick up with the usb...I always found it worked flawlessly.

It doesn't do anything when I turn on bluetooth, it just keeps searching and there's nothing showing up on the netbook?

Managed to set up bluetooth on the laptop even though it still says 'searching' on the iPhone! When I click on the bluetooth settings it asks me for a passkey (PIN). i don't have one. It says 'if blank, the default pin will be used'. I leave it blank and then get the message that 'connection has been denied'.

What am I doing wrong?

sometimes when creating a bluetooth connection, on the device making the connection ur asked to define a pin that the other device must enter, make sure nothin like that is coming up on the laptop or iphone, have a look at the options for bluetooth for the laptop and see is there a password set anywhere

Can't find any password set on the laptop. Do I have to ring 02 for a code?

Managed it! Put in my phone unlock code and that worked! Now connected to the internet!

I'm presuming that my internet usage will be taken out as part of my 2gb allowance? This was the way it worked when I used my old sim card in an unlocked dongle
