HDMI Cables for Blu Ray player

Hi there,

Sorry if this has been answered before - I did a search but couldn't find anything to help.

I have purchased a Samsung Blu Ray Player (BD-C5500) online but am at a complete loss about cables. There's just so many! I think I need a HDMI to HDMI cable, but then a lot of them are HDMI to mini HDMI and thats when I start to get confused!

I don't want to pay through the nose for it - I know they can go anywhere between a few euro up to 100euro but I amn't willing to pay much more than 20ish. Are all HDMI cables male-male?

For the use you describe you will need a normal HDMI cable. They have male plugs on both ends. MIni HDMI is usually only to connect small portable equipment.

Paying more will not buy you better performance. It might buy better construction quality. I bought mine in Lidl for around €7 and it works perfectly.

Hi I have done some research with hdmi and the best result was with version 1.3a hdmi. Mabey You will pick something here.

Dont buy these items high street, absolutely rip people off who are not sure about such things. Ebay is perfect for things like this. Make sure your tv has a hdmi connection also. Dont get caught up in the lingo. I bought one only a week or two ago online to connect laptop to tv, and its perfect
