do you mean good value or do you mean cheap?

panasonic have the 42gt20 at 1599 with active glasses which is good value for the quality of TV your getting... or LG do a cheap one that uses polarizing glasses but the 3D effect isnt as good

There's also the samsung 40C750 which is a fine 2D LCD tv as well as the fact it has 3D capability, should be got for about 1000e if you haggle

The experience wont be as nice as the pana above, though. It doesn't come with the glasses in the package either

Why would you look for a type of TV you know nothing about??? Is it just to say you have one?? More money than sense?? What??

You would be better off doing a bit of research to see if the TV suits your needs before buying...

Because he/she wants to watch in 3D I assume. No need for that type of response.

I've no interest in 3D per se, but I do want 200Hz minimum and the Samsung LE40C750 has both.

Picture is fabulous and Richersounds are offering it for €999 delivered. You can add a 5 year warranty for an additional €78 (I think). It costs €1299 in Argos and €1199 in Currys.

I'm also considering the Sony KDL-40HX703 which is €1100 from Sony with a 5 year warranty. It's the 2D brother of the KDL-40HX803 which is the 3D version. A nice set too, but pricey.

I've looked at the Philips TVs. Incredible picture, 200Hz, 1Ms response times. But, very, very pricey. Which is a shame, otherwise it would be a no-brainer for me.

You need special 3D specs these TVs, and at €90 each they are not cheap if you have a family of four or more.

Pixmania are doing the Samsung LE40C750 LCD Television for €987 (Without the specs)

That's a good price. Just come from Argos. Reduced to €1179 there now.

Extended warranty with Pixmania is very expensive though.

Power City are offering this one, LED which is better for €1499, it includes a pair of specs and €150 cashback which would in effect knock off €250 from the TV, also worth comnsidering. You are going to have to purchase specs with the other one.

    Cheers.

To be honest, I'm as confused as ever!

Money no object, the Philips 40" 8605 is the best tv I've seen. And it's the same price as the Samsung.

For what its worth. I'm running the Samsung 63" 7000 series 3D plasma and I think it's the nuts.

Panasonic seems to have picked up several awards for their VT20 plasma 3D. Saw the demo on both the 50" and 40". They are pricier than Samsung equivilants.

On another note I noticed a dead pixel on the right hand side of the screen on one of Sony's demo models at Peats of Parnell St. :p
