Car wont start + immobilizer/alarm beeping = head melted

Ok hoping somebody on here can give me some feedback on which is probably a minor (hopefully) problem.

Got my first car a few weeks back and everything was going fine until last night.
The door locks and immobilizer are operated by the same button (not attacted to my key) which was straight forward, hop out the car, press the button = doors locked and immobilizer on

I got into my car last night and the engine wouldn't start as if the immobilizer was still activated, you could hear the engine trying to start until it made that clicking noise which usually indicated your battery is dead.

along with this there is a beeping (from the outside) alarm went off for the first time as i was sitting in the car trying to start it! I wasnt aware the car had an alarm until now!

is this a case of having to reset the immobilizer? if it wasnt for the beeping I would just presume a dead battery and give the car a jump but I want to be 100% before i start poking around

    any help appreciated

    Attempt jump start first ;)
Worry about immobiliser if that doesn't work.

First thing is charge up the battery first or have a good battery to try again.

Leave the battery disconnected from the car for 5 minutes.

Check all the fuses, just incase any are blown.

Re-connect the battery, put the key in to the ignition and turn to start.

Hope that helps, imobilisers can be tricky.

Jump start should sort it out, with the weather changing to cooler this is the start of the battery death season OP!

What type of car is it?

If it's a BMW the alarm will start going nuts if the battery goes very low (it usually waits until the middle of the night just to completely screw up your sleep!!!)
