Green Party J Gormie recieves lifetime achievement tonight from ICABS!

This event has sold out. If you would like to support the Green Party in our work to end animal cruelty please visit www.greenparty.ie to make a donation.

    Thank you.

IT HAS BEEN DECIDED TO CHANGE THE VENUE FOR THIS EVENT. AN ALTERNATIVE VENUE IN DUBLIN CITY CENTRE WILL BE CONFIRMED SHORTLY

You are cordially invited to an evening to mark the recent achievements in the area of animal welfare, particularly the ban on stag hunting and the regulation of dog breeding establishments. These changes will be followed later in the year by a new Animal Welfare Bill.

People have campaigned for decades for these advances and we want to bring together animal welfare campaigners, suppporters and activists to celebrate the occasion.

Tickets cost €55 and will include a four-course meal.

The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, John Gormley, will say a few words about these achievements and other proposals that are coming down the line.

Places are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.

Proceeds from the event will support the Green Party's ongoing work to end cruelty to animals.

If you cannot come on the night you can still help to progress animal welfare policy in Ireland by supporting the Green Party.

THIS WAS THE MENU FOR THE ORIGINAL VENUE. WE WILL ATTEMPT TO KEEP AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THIS.

    4 course menu:

Cashel blue gateaux with pickled pears,
    or
    Lentil and bean soup.

    Gallette of wild mushroom,
    or
Baked Salmon with cucumber and mint.

    Selection of vegetables and potatoes.

Dark Chocolate Mousse with Irish Mist.

    Tea/ Coffee.

The salmon must have been lifted out of Donegal spawning grounds before the released mink got at it and killed humanely with a dose of bull****e.

Don't worry the salmon is organic and has been euthanesed in a calm environment with the soothing airs of Ravel to help them drift to the green nirvana. The bait fish used to produce their feed has received similar treatment.

Seriously, I would love to hear his acceptance speech, he'll likely chirp with glee so much that he'll have to spout his true agenda.

Hang on. I thought it was only anti-hunting or ICABs people who were interested in interfering with the opposition.

I would love to give him a ''Lifetime achievement'' for being a bone head who has no concept of how the real world really is!

A little Song for the theme of thread! Imagine it was Gormie as the narrator
'Twas an evening in October, I'll confess I wasn't sober,
I was carting home a load with manly pride,
When my feet began to stutter and I fell into the gutter,
And a pig came up and lay down by my side.
Then I lay there in the gutter and my heart was all a-flutter,
Till a lady, passing by, did chance to say:
"You can tell a man that boozes by the company he chooses,"
Then the pig got up and slowly walked away.

BTW It now looks like the flip-floppers / u-turners / spine-less twats in the Labour Party have gone all anti now too!

    From the ICABS website:

We won't reverse staghunt ban - Labour Leader
    05 October 2010
Labour Party leader, Eamon Gilmore, has announced that if his party gets into government after the next election, they will not reverse the ban on staghunting.
Speaking on the Marian Finucane radio show on October 2nd, Mr Gilmore stated that the party "won't reverse the decision" and that they "will stick with the ban on staghunting".
Mr Gilmore was one of the majority of Labour Party TDs who voted against the ban in June. It finally passed by a majority of 75 votes to 71, thus banning the cruel Ward Union deer hunt. ICABS welcomes this confirmation that, unlike Fine Gael, the Labour Party will not try to reverse the ban. We are calling on the party to give a commitment that if they get into government, they will ban hare coursing and foxhunting.

Go to the Link on the ICABS site: http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/8/26/2555237/labour%20will%20stick%20with%20staghunt%20ban.mp3 which has the specific question asked by Ms. Finucane and duly answered by Comrade Gilmore in the most cloying and slitheringly political vote-catching manner.

So that's the Pinkies, the Greenies, the Dev-Boys, (and are the Blueshirts still on the fence about this?) all out against hunting.....Time for another party perhaps?

    So much for promises, promises......

So the Reds are trying to hunt with the hounds and run with the fox as usual, off the electoral menu for me too.The Feeble Fools, and The Feeble Ghaul party are not worth my vote either.Yes a new party is needed ,very urgently.

Anyone going to this gloat fest??I'd recommend stocking up with a sucidie vest load of stink bombs,to be discreetly chucked around the dance floor or under tables before Gormless makes his speech. All that Veg diet makes you fart alot and gives you bad breath:D:D
