    Hi Guys,

Has anyone had their wedding afters in either of these venues? I know you can have your reception in either the ballroom or one of the garden rooms in the house or in the actual Ritz function room. What kind of price do they charge? I'm looking to have about 150 for my wedding but I'm worried that both these venues are for people with 'more money than sense'!! Maybe I'm wrong though! I thought I'd go and price it with them for myself but I may laugh in their face!! Thanks. :D

Why would you laugh in their face if it's the Ritz Carlton? They are a five star property so no doubt they don't allow functions to happen there "on the cheap".

Just email them and ask for info on their weddings.

Summerhill House across the road is really nice too. http://www.summerhillhousehotel.com/home.htm

Best bet is to ring or email and ask them to send you a wedding brochure and pricelist. Say that you're looking around at venues and haven't decided on anything yet, that way there's no pressure. I remember when we were looking for venues there were some I'd never even have considered emailing because I thought they'd be way out of our price range, but my Dad very wisely pointed out, a lot of hotels have dropped their prices or are offering special packages, so don't rule anything out.

Usually if you ask for a brochure they'll follow up with an email of phone call in about a month to see if you're interested, but if at that stage you're not going with them then just politely say that you've found somewhere else.
