Free Lunch for secondary School Teachers Galway

Hi I'm a Political science and sociology PhD student researcher from NUIG and I'm trying to recruit a group of secondary school teachers for an approx one hour focus group discussion (Group discussion). I'm trying to get a min to a max of 4 to 8 participants. The criteria involved is that they must be secondary school teachers, must either teach in Galway (city or county) or be originally from Galway and they must all know each-other in some capacity already (colleagues, family or friends). The focus group will be voice-recorded but anonymous and will take place in a location that suits participants. Those who give up an hour of there time will be rewarded with a token gesture of either the provision of a free lunch or the provision of snacks and beverages or alcohol (dependant on where the focus group is held) . It is hoped that this focus group can be arranged for some time soon within the month of October.

So if you are a secondary school teacher or know someone that is please suggest this to them. It could be used as a nice start to a night out or a relaxed get together for those involved. So far all participants have enjoyed the relaxed nature of the experience. All discussion guides are delivered to the group as a whole as opposed to targeting participants individually.

One thing, I've never had an hour of a lunch as a secondary teacher! Lucky if we get twenty minutes! Lunchduty plays havoc with getting a group together too.

Call it instead a free meal for whatever time suits participants

All appears to have gone quiet here in this thread since the moderator interfered and decided to move this thread out from Galway City to teaching and Lecturing. Has anyone else got any advice or ideas that could be of help in recruiting the lesser spotted Galway secondary teacher? Whenever I ring the schools I don't get past the receptionists.

About the Halo Idea I might actually take that on board as a recruiting area, thanks.

It seems my options are getting desperate :(

To be fair, boards is not a platform for recruiting people for your focus group, so whether it is in the Galway forum or here is irrelevant. I would imagine that it is highly unlikely that you will find enough participants on this site. As someone who has participated in focus group discussions like this in the past, I certainly wouldn't be volunteering for one that I found out about from the internet. Also, you haven't given any indication as to what the discussion will be about.

As advertising and looking for help with assignments are not allowed in this forum I am going to lock this thread. I suggest that you advertise in local newspapers in Galway and perhaps send a letter to schools.
