Don’t know about the other drinks, but Guinness in Dunnes the other day was cheaper. 2 cans for €2.50

that Perlenbacher is Lovely stuff, and at €4.29 for six 500ml bottles, is practically robbing it!

going to stock up big time!:):D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,387 ✭✭✭✭rubadub

The grafenwalder weiss beer is a good price, the one for 89c 5.2%

Will be getting the perlenbacher though.

Better off spending the extra 60c for the Franziskaner Weiss.
€1.49 for such a top weissbeer is a real bargain.

anyone know when the offers end? end of the week?
im gonna stock up on the perlenbacher, last time it was reduced to that 4.29 price i bought 2 crates. 48 bottles lasted a good while.

Bud and heineken where €15 for 20 bottles in my Centra yesterday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 509 ✭✭✭redalan

Franziskaner Weiss is absolutely top class. I too will be availaing in large volumes. The price is great, usually well north of EUR 2.00.

no offense, but 20 x 330ml bottles off heineken or bud (not great beer tbh) for fifteen euro is nothing to shout about.
not when you can get 24 500ml bottles of perlenbacher (GREAT beer) for a couple of quid extra!

Cheers for the heads-up lads - will be heading over to Lidl tomorrow for the Franziskaner.:D

Don't know how everyone thinks the perlenbacher is great, I stocked up on it last time, it's not great IMO..I would take the Graf pils over it any day.

I'd say the best deal on that flyer is the Graf Weiss at 89cent

Close of business Sunday 10th October as far as I know. It's like an add-on to their weekly food offers as far as I know.

which one are you talking about, the pils or the weiss?

The pils is great for the price, alot nicer that perlanbacher I reckon ...

The weiss is lovely too, and at 89cent makes it a mega bargain as you rarely see a weiss less than 2 euro

lol, gonna be a greedy bugger and try both! sure at these prices, they're cheaper than 500ml bottles of ballygowan, and that stuff doesn't make me a better singer!:D

Should try the English ales too. You cant normally get them here and at 1.49 they are much cheaper than the ones you can usually get in the offies. Sipping a 'Autumn Blaze' at the mo. Really reminds you that beer has aroma and taste.

    Did you try the Admiral?
I'll be dropping in later on to pick up some of the Autumn Blaze, wondering if the Admiral is up to scratch as well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,725 ✭✭✭✭thesandeman

I did. Its not the famous St Austel Admiral though. Its actually called Tapping The Admiral. It tastes sorta like brandy and chocolate mixed if that makes sense :-S Its not bad but imo the Autumn Blaze is nicer.

It's easy have expensive taste when someone else (i.e. the taxpayer) is paying for it. :) or should that be :( ?

The Perlenbacher is a fantastic offer imo. Better value and much better tasting than any of that Bud, Miller ****e etc

please tell us oh wise one what we should be drinking instead? it's great to have a few shepherd neame ales on at a really good price - haven't tasted them yet though - and the hoogaarden and leffe are decent beers.
